Raven Biofuels Announces New Developments for Its Cellulosic Ethanol Biorefinery in Mississippi

Raven Biofuels International Corporation (PINKSHEETS: RVBF) ("Raven" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the final stages of evaluation of a site and other developments for its planned cellulosic ethanol biorefinery located in the Gulf Opportunity Zone (GO Zone) of Mississippi.

The proposed site for the biorefinery is located in Ackerman, MS in Choctaw County in the Red Hills EcoPlex an ecological industrial park. The site is beneficially located adjacent to the Red Hills Power Plant that could supply the necessary steam and power for the biorefinery.

About the Red Hills EcoPlex

The Red Hills EcoPlex is an industrial ecology project comprised of 137 acres, created to build a network of environmentally friendly industries around the anchor tenants, the Red Hills Power Plant and the Red Hills Mine, to maximize community benefits. Companies that locate in the Red Hills EcoPlex might participate in exchange of by-products, whereby one company's by-product becomes another company's source of energy or another product. Given the right mix of tenants, the EcoPlex mimics a natural, efficient ecosystem. By working together, the community of businesses sees a collective benefit that is greater than the sum of individual benefits each company would realize by only optimizing its individual performance.

Companies locating in the EcoPlex may qualify for State or Federal environmental technology grants and regulatory allowances, as well as incentive programs based on industrial ecology, energy efficiency, and environmental design.

The 35-acre site offers regional benefits such as favorably lower feedstock and labor costs combined with strong State incentives such as The Gulf Opportunity Zone (GO Zone). The feedstock to be utilized for the biorefinery will be locally sourced wood chips and wood waste. In association with the GO Zone initiatives the project plan also includes development groundwork for a cogeneration facility to be undertaken in cooperation with local utilities. The Gulf Opportunity Zone Act was passed into law on Dec 21, 2005 as an initiative to rebuilding the region devastated by multiple hurricanes (Wilma, Rita and Katrina) in 2005.

The proposed biorefinery will have a planned output of up to 33 million gallons per year (MGPY), based on a projected 21 MGPY of fuel grade ethanol and 12 MGPY of specialty organic chemicals, plus lignin cake.
