PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) - The former Rolling Pin Donut factory in Pine Bluff will have another sweet purpose soon: the U.S. Sugar Co. says it will open a plant there and initially employ 20 to 30 workers.
U.S. Sugar President and CEO William K. McDaniel says the plant should be operational in about six months. He says the plant could create up to 80 to 100 jobs in two to three years.
U.S. Sugar buys refined sugar in bulk, converts it to brown and powdered sugars, mostly to be sold as private label or store brand products.
The plant is located in the Jefferson Industrial Park.
