US EPA accorded the rhe registration following completion of the construction of Indian River BioEnergy Center, which will convert municipal and solid waste into advanced biofuels and renewable power.
The new facility will have a capacity of producing 8m gallons of advanced bio-ethanol besides 6MW renewable power annually from renewable biomass.
INEOS Bio CEO and INPB chairman Peter Williams that the company is hopeful of advancing this bio-energy technology and making it commercially viable for global expansion.
"Building more facilities and licensing this technology globally provides a new platform for waste disposal while providing energy security, local jobs and local bioenergy."
Commercial production from the new plant is expected to begin towards the end of third quarter of 2012.
