Sofia. “There is an action against frauds in the sugar industry underway at the moment and the first results are already seen,” Bulgarian Finance Minister Simeon Dyankov told journalists at parliament, FOCUS News Agency reporter informs.

“When I became finance minister, I asked the National Revenue Agency, the services and the State Agency for National Security (SANS) to tell in which sectors the VAT draining is most concerning, and the first report was for the sugar industry,” the minister remarked, adding that the VAT frauds in this sector cause a financial harm estimated at BGN 140 million – BGN 200 million annually.
