How higher blend ethanol affects a car's engine

ST. PAUL, Minn. — The federal government's move to allow more ethanol in gasoline could improve the outlook for the ethanol industry.

EPA officials said earlier this week that a couple dozen companies will soon be allowed to offer a blend of gas that includes 15 percent ethanol. It's called E-15. The previous limit was at 10 percent.

The bump up has some people concerned about the effect that more ethanol could have on the engines of cars and trucks.
