Cardinal Ethanol has received a 2010 CSX Chemical Safety Excellence Award, presented at a ceremony in Charlotte, N.C. "Safety is an integral part of our company," said Jeff Painter, president of Cardinal Ethanol.

The award recognizes companies that safely shipped 600 or more railcars during 2010 on the CSX railroad. Cardinal Ethanol shipped over 3,000 cars of ethanol in 2010.

Cardinal Ethanol is a 100-million-gallon ethanol plant that also produces more than 325,000 ton of distiller's dried grain, a highly nutritional livestock feed. This is the second consecutive year that Cardinal Ethanol has been the recipient of the award.
