CLEARFIELD, Pa. -- A new business is planning to set up shop next to the Clearfield Bionol ethanol plant.
Aire Liquide is planning to trap carbon dioxide created during the fermentation process at the plant. The carbon dioxide would eventually be used to carbonate beverages or in dry ice.
Officials said the carbon dioxide from the plant is currently released into the air.
The developers of the project said it will create four new jobs at the building, along with around 10 delivery drivers. Local workers could be used during construction.
They added that Aire Liquide was attracted to the plant because of its proximity to Interstate 80 and an adjacent rail line.
Plans for the business are currently in the early stages. Construction could begin in a year and a half.
