Petrobras has signed an $820 million ethanol supply contract with Japan's
Toyota Tsusho Corporation, the Brazilian company said late Friday.
Under the terms of the agreement, its first long-term ethanol supply
contract, Petrobras will deliver 143,000 cubic meters/year of hydrous for a
period of 10 years.
The ethanol supplied will be used by TTC to produce bio-PET, Petrobras
said in a statement.
Last Monday, Petrobras said Acucar Guarani, part of French sugar and
ethanol group Tereos International, would supply the Brazilian oil major with
2.2 billion liters of ethanol for the next four years.
The supply contract between Tereos and Petrobras is worth an estimated
Real 2.1 billion ($1.2 billion).
