The German Sugar Industry Association (WVZ) lowered its forecast for 2010/11 sugar output to 3.623 mln tonnes, white value, from a September projection of 3.660 mln, which compares with 4.207 mln tonnes produced in 2009/10.The WVZ sugar production forecast includes the sugar equivalent of beets used for ethanol and biogas.
WVZ revised its forecast for sugar content of the beet to 17.12% from a previous forecast of 17.63%, which would be down sharply from last year's 18.2%.
