BP could be the next oil major to expand in the Brazilian ethanol industry, with a report that it has put in a reais800m ($466.3m) bid for a 50% stake in Cerradinho.
According to local paper O Estado de Sao Paulo, the two parties started negotiations on a deal a few months ago and the board was due to give an answer on Friday.
