NASCAR to Utilize New Ethanol Mix from Sunoco

Sunoco Inc, a transportation fuel providing company, has declared that it will provide National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) the new Sunoco Green E15 a mix fuel with 15% ethanol. The fuel will be utilized by NASCAR in its designed three national traveling series.

The company will mix the Sunoco Green E15 fuel at its fuel blending facility located in Marcus Hook Pa. The ethanol manufactured from corn will be received from its ethanol producing plant at Fulton N.Y. The new Sunoco Green E15 is used by the engine builders of NASCAR team for several months with positive results.

In fact the trial runs were able to realize more horsepower by utilizing Sunoco Green E15. Instead of the conventional filling from underground fuel storage tanks the new fuel will be pumped directly into the race vehicles from the tankers located over the race track. Earlier NASCAR was using Sunoco 260 GTX, the 98-octane an unleaded race fuel mix that set a touchstone for engine functioning. The new Sunoco Green E15 will be used by the trucks and cars that partake in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series

Bob Owens, Sunoco’s Senior Vice President, said that his company was manufacturing and offering the racing fuel to NASCAR from the year 2004. He appreciated the commitment of NASCAR in utilizing Sunoco Green E15 mix for the competitions. He added that during the six years of association with NASCAR his company has shifted to the changing times and helped NASCAR to move into unleaded fuel and now to a high performing ethanol mix.
