The German Sugar Industry Association (WVZ) cut its sugar production forecast for 2010/11 marginally to 3.660 mln tonnes, white value, from 3.672 mln in its August forecast. A drop in forecast sugar content to 17.63% from 17.73% in the last forecast offset a rise in beet yields to 64.7 tonnes per ha from 64.4 in the previous projection.
The WVZ sugar production forecast includes the sugar equivalent of beets used for ethanol and bio-gas.
