North Sea Group, the largest independent fuel supplier in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, has started a new subsidiary, North Sea Global Ethanol (NSGE). Considered a pioneer in the biofuels marketing and distribution sector, NSGE will focus on ethanol sales and distribution.

NSGE said it hopes to have “a complete integration of a fully sustainable supply chain to downstream end use.” Located in Zug, Switzerland, the new group also hopes to maintain responsible and sustainable CO2 reduction by concentrating on biodiesel from residue flows and sugarcane based ethanol.

In addition to the focus on fuel grade ethanol, NSGE will also develop industrial, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products. The company, which combines storage and distribution for oil and biofuels, has customers that include big oil, international shipping companies and trading houses and traders. The company formerly operated out of Sao Paulo, Brazil.
