Hannibal, MO — As expected, President Barack Obama will get a private tour of an ethanol plant in Macon and hold a public rally in Quincy on Wednesday.

The events are part of the second day of Obama’s Tri-State tour to discuss the economy. Tuesday’s previously announced stops are Fort Madison, Mount Pleasant and Ottumwa in Southeast Iowa.

Obama will tour the POET biorefining plant along U.S. 36 east of Macon in the early afternoon. He plans to talks with “workers about what they are experiencing during these tough economic times and share ideas for rebuilding our economy in the long term.,” according to the White House.

The Quincy rally will begin at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday at the Oakley-Lindsay civic center at Third and York, with doors to open at 1.

Tickets will be distributed to the public on a first-come, first-served basis until they’re gone starting at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the York Street entrance to the civic center. Only people with tickets will be allowed into the rally.

Air Force One is expected to leave Quincy Regional Airport immediately after the hour-long event.
