PAKISTAN - Brazil has offered to bring its expertise in ethanol production as well as its technology for poultry and meat processing to Pakistan.
The offer of assistance followed a meeting between commercial representatives from the Brazilian embassy in Pakistan and industrialists in the Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
According to a report in the Pakistan Times, the Brazilian delegation told the chamber of commerce representatives that 90 per cent of Brazilian transport business relies on ethanol, which Brazil produces through its sugar industry.
The delegation said that it could transfer the technology to Pakistan to help promote the biofuel.
The Brazilian delegation also added that it possessed better technology for poultry and meat production as well as steel that could also be brought to Pakistan.
The Brazilian ambassador is expected to visit Multan shortly to hold further meetings with the industrialists, the Time report says.
