Agstar Financial Services says a 40-million-gallon ethanol plant in Woodbury, Mich., is being sold to Carbon Green Bioenergy of Chicago.
AgStar Financial had acquired the plant in March through the bankruptcy of ethanol producer VeraSun Energy of Sioux Falls.
In a release, Agstar Financial, headquartered in Mankato, Minn., said the purchase marks the first direct ownership of ethanol production for Carbon Green BioEnergy.
The release says Carbon Green BioEnergy focuses on biofuels, biomass and renewable energy.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
