Brazilian state oil company Petrobras is making progress with its plans to produce ethanol in Mozambique.

Miguel Macedo, chairman of biofuel arm Petrobras Combustiveis, said the firm plans to start producing ethanol there in 2014. Speaking in Maputo at a conference entitled "Brazil and Africa: Opting for Sustainable Development," Macedo said that the company would set up a distillery next year.
